Photographer’s Note

View on the Joux Valley in the Vaud canton in Switzerland. In foreground the small Brenet Lake and in back, the Dent de Vaulion (literally "Tooth of Vaulion"). You can see a larger version by clicking on the shot, and another more classical of the same point of view giving more importance to the sky.

To get there from France, I passed through a magnificent forest of pines over 11km, crossed by nordic skiing trails. Not a village, not even a cow! ;-) That day it was a silent world bathed of sun, a sort of white and blue Paradise... A sort of escape.

"I Ran Away", Coldplay, CD-Single "Scientist / 1:36 / I Ran Away" (2002) - perhaps the less known song ...and definitively one of the most beautiful by this group.

well this was a peom that i read in 5th or 6th grade at School ...long back.

I really wish to be at this Place ... the bright yellow coloured House.
Its so Open so Refreshing .

Très belle photo. Je connais cette région pour y avoir fait de la rando en été, là c'est magique: le bleu, la neige, le lac. la villa au premier plan est un plus, sa couleur "réchauffe". Merci.

Great detailed composition in a beautiful frame.

Excelent colors, composition, scenery in a winter and earth ground condition. This one is good by this angle of view. Good colors, contrast and enquadrement.

My last post have a trace of a flying jet air plane in a after sunset in my town. Here we have also a great jet base near my landscape, that generally makes sunset's with the Sun.

Une vraie carte postale. L'image est très propre : netteté excellente, lumière bien distribuée, composition très équilibrée. Mon regard est attiré par le col au dessus de la maison, je n'aurais pas remarqué le silot si une critique ne me l'avait pas fait remarquer.
Le côté endormi du paysage est frappant. Tout semble désert, pas même une vache en effet.

A beautiful and tranquil winter scene, Philippe. Excellent panoramic from the grand landscape, with a good composing to have the houses in the bottom left area. Again the exposure and the custom curve work at the very best to render the crisp white coating of the scenery at the most convincing. Well done.

Je reviens d'une journée dans les Fagnes où j'ai eu l'occasion de faire quelques clichés dans la neige. Ici, le panoramique est magnifique et j'adore cette composition avec la maison, le lac et la montagne. Les couleurs sont superbes!

Bravo pour cette superbe prise Philippe. Tout est vraiment bien dans cette image, les couleurs, le point de vue, le paysage, la netteté, tout... Le ciel est vraiment d'un beau bleu et il contraste si bien avec la neige. C'est un très beau paysage hivernal.

La version panoramique a un grand avantage, c'est indéniable, particulièrement celle de nous montrer un paysage très ouvert sur la beauté. J'aime beaucoup la fumée émanant de la petite maison jaune (une touche qui rend vivante la composition).
Je suis admiratif des détails et de la beauté des couleurs dans cette prise de vue.
Excellente réalisation.

This is very richly detailed as a large post. Throughout it is fine and sharp. I like the textures of the snow, especially, and also in the distance. The scene is also a very tranquil one. The home overlooks the lake and all the nature around it and the view is splendid. Only thing is my eye wants to continue moving to the right along the lake where the frame ends. I guess I will have to go there myself since I want to see it in full 360 degrees now. I'm sure this looks beautiful in all seasons but winter suits it very well and you've captured it beautifully.

Hey Philippe! tu passes de plus en plus de temps chez nous...LOL. Et c'est tant mieux, surtout si c'est pour nous présenter de telles beautés. La vue est superbe, les tons froids agrémentés de légères tonalités boisées donnent un résultat superbe. Connais pas le morceau :-(, mais je suis certain qu'il convient ici...quoique...ce silence que tu décris associé à cette vue, c'est magnifique également! Merci de ta visite ;-)

Long time absence,but every time I re-visit your gallery,it gives a nice touch to me,indeed!

the shot,specially in large version is fantastic,amazingly beautiful and detailed,with an attractive colors with a best contrast.

This is one of the most beautiful iamges I've seen on this site and the beauty of it is that it communicates so well the calmness and serenity of the place. It further provides a glimpse to a place I've always wanted to explore: Switzerland and the Alps.
