Photographer’s Note
This is lower dewey lake, Skagway. Located about 600ft above sea level. The hike to see it was very steep, but worth it. There is a cable running across the lake, and, to those to are crazy enough, can try to make there way across the lake. I tried...fell in, VERY cold water, even in June! Please excuse the quality of the shot, it was taken on a Minolta Dimage 223!

My critique is not of the photo quality, but of the subject. This is NOT Lower Dewey lake. You were on the trail to Lower Dewey, but what you actually found was the old man-made hydroelectric reservoir. The lake is a mile long and is about 10 minutes past this thing. You would have gotten an unbelievable shot had you kept walking and not mistaken this ugly pond with cables strung accross it for a beautiful, unadulterated alpine lake. On the upside, you did get a great shot of the Peaks of Mount Dewey towering above.
