Photographer’s Note

During cross-counry skiing trip I found very interesting place in the middle of snowy field near the small south bohemian village - Predborice. I took this shot in counterglow of noon sun with my new 300D camera.

The village Predborice and the Church of St. Philip and Jacob, which was built in the 13th century, is located on the horizon.

This region (my mother country) is situated approx. 90 km south from Prague.

Great picture Jiri. I love the contrast between the light and the shadow, the games of the light and the figure of this tree.

Awesome shot Jiri!

I love it! The composition is perfect, and the detail is excellent. Some people may give you a hard time about overexposure- but I think that's what really adds the "feeling" in this shot...

Excellent, love the frontlighting and the shadows made by the tree. The silhouette of the cross and the church in the background are nice details.
I dont think its really B+W as I can see some colour in the sky (which I like).

I like the shadows here very much and the composition with the cross in between the 2 trees with the church on the right gives this marvelous capture a very special atmosphere

Wonderful cmposition here, I enjoy he way the shadows continue the lines and the curves of the real trees. The cross in the middle gives some mystery, and the b/w supports this feeling. Very good shot, My friend.

Hi Jiri, this is a very special image. It does look like another world. At first it seems a very typical tree with shade photo, but, the snow, the cross and the village behind make it very different and unique. Great. Maiko

This is a truly stunning image. Despite the imbalance among the branches of the trees, there is great balance in the photo itself.

That has to go into my favourites. What a composition!!! I love it...The branches of the tree and the over exposure have created a feeling which can only be felt, not to be told...
