The Chi-Cheemaun ferry boat is shown here approaching its port in South Baymouth, Manitoulin Island. It carries passengers and cars (up to 143) on Lake Huron between Tobermory, on the Bruce Peninsula and Maintoulin Island, a 40 km trip. It was made in Ontario and made its maiden voyage in 1974.. Its name means 'big canoe” in Ojibwe language. I put two other views of this ship into the Workshop.
