This photo was taken in Colombo in the late December of 2013.
This scene reminded me a classic phrase about the dead lion.
Have a great weekend!

It reminds me of those little birds who clean the teeth of crocodiles! Brave and foolish. This is a lovely moment to capture, and I love the happy face on the lion too, maybe he knows he has dinner sorted out. Great idea giving half the backdrop to that lovely building and half to the slate grey sky.

I remember the lion, and there were probably birds standing on its nose already in 1992, but I don't remember the building in the background. There were quite many highrise buildings already then, but there are probably a lot more now. It's a very nice composition, well seen.

Very well observed and taken scene with a great quality and elegant composition. The visual effect of this presentation is eye-catching due to the well executed DOF and sharpness. Like it! TFS.

Interesting combination raven a top classical lion statue with unique styled mane as if beautician styled. And blurred modern building background avoids distraction.

fascinating, excellently spotted and really original looking compopsition.
I like it very much!Firstly because of the subject and secondly because you mastered here perfectly DOF to achieve so great visual effect.
Wish You a nice sunday

I had never heard this phrase before, and I can only find information relating to U.S. political representations of parties. You'll have to help me understand this one, I'm quite curious now??
This would have been an interesting photo of elemental contrast on its own, but the addition of the crow really makes it fun. I thought the same as Noel, like the little birds cleaning the teeth of crocodiles. :) Good thing this is merely a statue, or that bird may not have flown any further. I love its silhouette set against the gritty texture of the lion and the background building. Another unexpected surprise image from this locale. Good observation and quick thinking to grab this shot. Have a good week ahead my friend. Take care.
Cheers from the U.S.,

very nice and funny detail of the alive animal and the sculpture of another. I liked the framing and the mood of the compo.
