Like a waterfall ... The strong waves on the rocks give this waterfall view. Wind and high tidal.
Taken on the Charente coast in the end of the afternoon.

that is another photo from your "angry sea" series and it similarly features loads of dynamism. The sea in all of your last pictures looks very strong and rough, but this is also its beauty.
The cascades formed by the rocks are very pretty and add an extra interest to the image.
Since the hour was late and the weather very gloomy there are not many colors in here, but that only helps to maintain the mood.
Thanks for sharing

Even though they have brought so much damage, these big waves and high winds have made some beautiful opportunities for photos too, as you show here. This is not a scene we would see often, and it looks wonderful. Very nice timing to capture this in this way, and teh mist looks excellent too.

Salut cher Jean
I love these natural cascades created by the huge and violent seas. The bluish caste to the image emphasises the cold, relentless weather conditions. An excellent piece of photography.

This is a good composition and a fine view. The waterfalls are small but very attractive and you captured the spray of water very well. I think the blue tone is too strong, so I made a workshop to change that. I hope you won't mind.

A good picture to show all the forces of nature. An interesting spectacle with all these cascades along the rocks. The roar of the waves must have been impressive too!

Looks like this was taken in La Jolla, California just outside San Diego, even the street lamps are almost similar. Those waves are beautiful but can be dangerous also. Nice capture with good details. Well done, tfs.

Rough sea's kept pounding and grinding the rocks on shore, Jean.
Yet, those rocks provide a good defence to the watefront promenade on town.
Fine taken the winter scenery.

A dynamic low light shot taken at slow shutter displaying the power of nature, the dramatic small 'waterfalls' and churning water grab as strong focal.
Brilliant image, exposure is pleasant full of good detail in natural colours. Well done, Congrats.

They say good things come from bad, and hear in this storm a super small waterfall is made and you captured it, well done.
Love the spray.

You have made good use of the stormy and inclement weather. Love the waterfall effect created by the retreating surf over those rocks on the shore. The details on the churning, foaming and frothing sea is very attractive. Nicely done, thanks for sharing.

Excellently captured water movement, I like the arrangement with the white houses in background. The blue tones are very nice.
Very well done.
Wish you a very nice rest of the week.

Unlike the previous pictures in your series, this has much more of a calm atmosphere...but there's still enough dramatic impact perceived from the receding tide. A beautiful moment which has captured the appearance of a waterfall, and one that can be enjoyed over and over again! :) The low light plays well into the turbulent waters, but also helps induce a relaxed and pleasing moment between waves. Great timing to catch this effect and present it so very well. Enjoy the weekend ahead. Take care.
batalay (35791) 2014-02-15 6:50
Your description, "... like a waterfalls," is most appropriate. It does show the ferocity of the waves, climbing and then cascading down. Well conceived, composed and executed photo. Have a good weekend,
mcmtanyel (14217) 2014-02-25 21:08
You have recorded a very unique phenomenon with competent technique here. Great turbulence!
