The huge expanse of water that is currently the River Arun at Stopham in West Sussex, England. After a few dry days it looks like rainy days are here again, and with the ground so water-logged, sadly no respite from the flooding.

Hi Brian,a lot of rain in my country too,and my river too is very very full of water,a common scene of Europe in this strange winter without snow, beautiful capture with the usual top quality of details and colors,i like it! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

it`s your attention to detail and the extra little touches that make this such an emotive picture for me,there being just a glimpse of a gatepost and gate that give an indication of the depth of the flooded fields.
That important splash of light on the trees are perhaps a promise of brighter times to come.
Lovely winter tones make it a really fantastic shot.
All the best Les.

at first I can only hope the flood does not make too much harm to the people living there.
But when it comes to the photo, the soft and warm light makes the scene look really beautiful and tranquil.
I know it´s quite contradictory juxtaposition to the flood and its dangerous effect.
Wish You all the best

there is always some silver edge of the cloud - even the flood can sometimes have pretty accents. But hopefully the rain will stop soon.
What I like about this picture are first of all the colors and my favorite combination of blue and brow shades. Almost symmetrical composition helps to create illusion of lake being like a big mirror for the sky.

A great and tragic capture of nature's unpleasant side. We've been also affected by the flooding in many regions of France. This image captures well the scale of the flood. The shot is clear and colourful and definately shows the power of a river at flood. The heavy clouds of the mackerel sky give a wonderful contrast.
Have a nice day.

Destructive forces of nature also have a beauty of their own, and you have captured that very well here. The water level on those trees give us an idea about the level of flooding. Lovely could formations and their reflections on the water. I hope you see more of that little blue sky soon. Thanks fro sharing.

Great image of this flooded scene you timed it right with that low dappled sun to add mood and a bit more colour.
When is all the rain going to stop I feel sorry for the Farmers.

Well Brian, today we have rain too for which we are very grateful. Nothing like what you present here but it cools the air and fills the dams. Looking at this shot, it is going to be a long while before the land drys out and a tricky situation for the farmers who have ground to prepare for sowing. A beautiful flooded landscape, I can't believe how far up the gate the water is! Warm regards Rosemary

Only an artist can find beauty in even a disaster, be it storm or deluge. You have 'found' it, and captured it with your usual finesse. An elegant composition it is with a fascinating sky and reflection thereof... and those trees and bushes. I like this digital painting with wonderful colors and light... thanks for sharing.

Gidday dear Brian
Oooh I love love love this. The pastel colours, particularly reflected on the water, the sparse trees and the golden light that warms them are really stunning. This is a masterpiece and I wish I'd taken it.
Thanks for sharing and for your lovely thoughts for my mamma, I've been reading all the nice comments out and she's delighted and humbled

a nice composition here. Good graphical effect created by the trees with its reflections in the water flooded area. Nice soft light which made the scene picturesque. Excellent framing. Tfs.

We have a lot of rain too in France and this picture could be in France too ! Fed up with the rain, but it makes original pictures sometimes !
