Castillo del Romeral, is a fishing village with about 3000 inhabitants in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana in the south of Gran Canaria.
The village was founded in the sixteenth century and was born around some old salt, has now disappeared. Beside the salt ponds existed fortress called "Castillo del Romeral" which gave the town its name.
