Karneval on the Rhine Photo

Photographer’s Note

This photo has been taken on the market place in Bonn on the biggest carnaval day of the region (Rosenmontag, the monday of carnaval). Bonn is about 25km away from Cologne where you find the biggest carnaval of Europe...the entire city goes completely crazy for 6 days in a row...
This building is the townhall of Bonn....former capital of West Germany in which I grew up.

PS: sorry for the tilt...I had probably drunk too much Kölsch (local beer) but that is part of the carnaval and the cultural transmission here!!;-)

Very colour- and joyful, and the light is great. We have a building here resembling this one quite a lot. I sense a slight tilt, but correcting it may cause more damage than keeping it. Looking again I'm no longer sure if there is a tilt...

I love parties and carnavals. I sometimes drink too much and can't see straight which I think is the case here. The picture is tilted quite heavily!

Other than that, I would have been tempted to take a rather different angle, with more human element included. There seems to be a lot going on, but you are focusses too broadly!!

Salut Léonie!

Je suis content que tu nous donnes un apperçu de ce carnaval de Bonn, un ville où je me souviens avoir passé un journée en excursion alors qu'elle était encore capitale de la RDA. L'architecture de cet hôtel de ville est intéressante et les couleurs originales. Très bien vu!

La lumière et les couleurs sont très jolies -
Splendide photo qui me rappelle l'époque où je me rendais souvent en Allemagne (et où nous buvions beaucoup de bière).

Mais c'est à l'Allemagne et son Carnaval de Bonn que je dédie mon sourire ce soir.
Ta photo a un éclairage merveilleux, les tons sont doux.
Tu me connais maintenant, je ne vais pas jouer les redresseurs de... maisons, mais ça mériterait vraiment. Sur la prochaine, tu me promets de corriger la perspective ? ;-)
Ceci dit, ton post d'aujourd'hui me plait énormément. Bravo !

Belle scene pleine de vie et de couleurs, tres bel hotel de ville aussi, que represente exactement la photo, les Narren qui prennent le controle de la ville ?
