As some of you know, the highlight of this trip will be next weekend, the visit in Middlesbrough to Mariusz. We have been friends on Te for many years and it seems to me I know Mariusz very well (and he knows me) but till now haven't an opportunity to meet in person. So I found this opportunity just buying the flight tickets. Mariusz was at first horrified thinking it would be the only goal. I am so excited and can't wait to it!
Liverpool is on the top of his bucket list in England and specially the view of Albert Dock in blue hour. I walked around the docks waiting for blue hour but it didn't come somehow so I went to fascinating Liverpool Museum nearby.
I travelled in Turkey with my friend, another crazy old lady, we met Deniz and Basak often so now I miss them and feel a bit lonely.

Beautiful blue hour shot of this dock. I like the birghtly lit walls, clear reflections on water, angular POV and the yacht. Great sharpness, clarity and composition.

You must be the most travelled lady on the planet!!
But, Albert Dock is a great place to photograph! It is worth the visit. Your photograph has captured the evening mood very well, with the warehouses in soft light and the fine reflections in the water.
The tall masts and the brewery tower help to create a good sense of perspective.
Have a great meeting with Mariusz.
He is a gentleman; we met in Peebles.

This is a great blue hour composition featuring the Albert Dock in Liverpool, the city where I grew up and spent my formative years. Composition and exposure are both perfect. Superb colours and reflections and clarity par excellence. Top class photography.

J'aime beaucoup cette photo prise un petit peu avant l'heure bleue. J'aime beaucoup l'ambiance feutrée qui se dégage sur le beau port. Le voilier a une très belle ampleur et la lumière sur les immeubles donne un bel arrière plan.

hi eleanor rigby. it was funny to think of you while waiting for the blue hour on the docks, i almost can't believe it, but you already say you quit. that's it :))
the place surprizingly resembles speicherstadt in hamburg, not only the victorian bricks but the modern building on the left too. nice reflections, where i like the cut tip of the mast the most :PP
ps :so, you feel a bit lonely in liverpool... then, i present you these lyrics from eleanor rigby:
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?
hehe... our itchy feet comes from warsaw but she belongs to the whole world.

All I can say is that I know that you will love Mariusz, he's a delightful fellow as well as being an excellent photographer and I'm sure you will walk him off his feet when you meet him in Middlesbrough!
This is a fabulous photograph from Liverpool taken in just the right light and with glorious reflections on the calm water. The mixture of natural and artificial light is delightful, your exposure is perfect and the details and sharpness, even when seen at full size, are exquisite. I suspect you might have used your trusty tripod for this one?

Hello Malgo - This is a lovely shot. The combination of old and new architecture gives us a glimpse of Liverpool through the ages and the ship reminds us that this was the port from which so many people emigrated to the new world. It's also the port that was the 'gateway' to the cotton industry which thrived in the north of England. I find the colours here beautifully harmonious and the reflections magical. TFS this and enjoy your trip. Warm regards Rosemary

Pozdrawiam serdecznie i czekam :)

The sky had exactly the color of the blue hour, but the composition is wonderful with these reflections so fascinating, a curious mixture of architectures that are twinned in a very pleasant way.
A colorful perfect very natural.
A bright image with optimum clarity.
Good job. I love it.
Enjoy a good weekend.
P/D. Happy encounter with Mariusz. Regards

che differenza tra le architetture, il moderno che prosegue dall'antico e si protende verso il futuro.
Chiaramente splendido il riflesso con la barca e la ciminiera, in questo mare di luci.

Hello, Mrs. I.F!
I think, Mariusz is not lonely TE-member in Liverpool. Mike lives here too.
Very nice evening scene, frankly speaking Great Britain is my old dream. But the US is so close today for me ))). And England will be my next point in my trip list.
Best wishes from snowy Ural,

Bel effet de miroir, le POV bien choisi montrant a la fois les différentes architectures moderne et plus ordinaire, le bateau est un plus a la composition
ChrisJ (94426) 2013-12-03 1:58
A striking contrast between the old at right and the new at left with the brick chimney acting as a dividing line. Good reflections and superb sharpness and density. I like the warm cold color contrast between the red and blue. Tfs!
InasiaJones (31250) 2013-12-04 18:24
Very attractive combination of colours, with the lit red bricks buildings against the purplish blue sky. The reflections are exquisite, specially with the spotlights coming from the ship.
The contrast between the old docks and the modern buildings in the background is captivating. Great work!

Ciao bella Itchy Feet
How sweet that you wanted to visit Mariusz! I hope you had fun! Don't you miss me too? ;)
This is an awesome tribute to him. He loves Blue Hours and has become a master at them. And with Your trusty tripod, so have you. It's so beautifully composed, with perfect light and tones. The water looks like wet blue cement. I love everything about this shot. Congratulations.

Ciao Malgorzata, fascinating composition with fantastic reflections, splendid light and wonderful colors, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
ikeharel (51495) 2013-12-14 0:48
Old and new mingled beautifully, Malgo.
Fine early evening shot, the sail-boat is marvelousely "decorated" the red bricks warehouses on waterfront.
Reflection on calm water show well the high chimney, modern two edifices on left and there was real special light in favor of the beautiful photo.
Enjoy a nice weekend,
