This beautiful avenue of beech trees known as the “Dark Hedges” was planted in the 18th century by the Stuart family as a landscape feature on the approach to their house in County Antrim. It is a popular tourist attraction on the Bregagh Road near the village of Stranocum. The avenue has even been used as a scene in the hit HBO’s series “Game of Thrones.” Locally it is said to be haunted by the “Grey Lady,” a ghost who appears to pass by the trees at dusk and disappears as she passes the last tree.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful place with us. Superb fall colors and contrast over here. These amazing tree branches looks a bit haunting as aptly described in your note. I wonder how the photo will come out on an overcast gloomy day!! Nice shot!!

beautiful soy of this amazing place, I visited here before but the light was terrible, results were disappointing. Yours however are fantastic, I really lived the angle you choose for this and the Coors are amazing.

Un bon format vertical pour nous présenter cette petite route bordée d'arbres aux couleurs automnales et on voit bien la forme bizarre des branches, et des troncs penchés et une belle perspective sur la sortie du bois

I often heard about this place but I didn't know it when I've been in Nortern Ireland a few years ago ! These trees are really fantastic, it looks like a haunted place. Beautiful autumn colours.

C'est un superbe petit chemin, avec des branches qui font des voluptes sous un fond de feuiles dorées d'automne. C'est un paysage vraiment charmant.

un endroit magnifique et la photo aussi. Les arbres très photogéniques dans la tonalité d'automne.

an autumn shot but what a shot it is. Totally amazing. These are probably the walking trees of the lord of the rings. Great mastering of colours too. This picture makes me to want to visit this place as soon as possible. Congratulations.

As you say, a well-known feature, and one that has appeared before on TE, but of course none the worse for that. Gorgeous tones, excellent composition and great surging upward movement. I might have under-exposed 1/2 stop maybe.
