Photographer’s Note
And an other picture from Tokyo. Well like I said before, Japan is a perfect country to teach yourself shooting portraits. A big aperture or a small one? Well this question repeats itself over and over again, day in day out.
Here I wanted her hair also in focus including her orange jacket and her cheek. The shutter speed was a bit low but I hoped IS helped me here.
The girl was doing something with telephones, I've got no idea what.

Hans, she is a very nice model. She has a very authentic smile and it shows she does it a lot. Please check my workshop and let me know what you think. Thanks

wow Hans, you are extremely good at shooting these close-up portrait shots. The lighting and your DOF is superb, in almost all your photos of this nature.

Hi Hans,
another great portrait with excellent focus, sharpness and DOF control, this one has a much more optimistic expression than the married one !!!
Have a nice week end,

Brought in by DAM's workshop, I feel like I've just learned everything about model photography. He took this from a good shot of a girl with a nice smile, to something one would expect to see in a style magazine. Wonderfully accomplished... first time I wish I could give points to a workshop.
On a personal note, I am saddened that these retouched symbols of unrealistic perfection have become so common in advertising that many would have walked right past the beautiful girl at the heart of it. And so, kudos to Hanso for seeing her. Well done.

Bonjour Hans,
Une belle prise qui avait toutes les qualités pour en faire ce qu'en fit "Dam". Je suis admiratif pour tous les deux. Merci beaucoup pour cette leçon de photographie et de retouche.

Lovely original capture.
Superb lesson from DAM about what it takes to produce those glamour-magazine type portraits. I learnt a lot.
Congrats to both.
