Kids are curious in general. They are very curious about me, more so than they are with Europeans, because they have seen enough Europeans tourists, but not many Asian tourist has made it here. They called me Jacky Chan, or Jet Li since they know those two Chinse actors in may action films that they know. I talk to them and play with them even though they have no idea what I'm talking about, they just laughed and I start making funny face at them, and they did the same to me. I had a great time with them and I came home with a few funny faces images.

J'ai déjà pris ce genre de photos et je sais que les enfants s'en donnent à coeur joie. Ils ont surement voulu voir la photo après. Vraiment "Funny Faces".

it was worth the effort to play with the kids and made them feel relaxed with a stranger. In what language did you spoke to them? a musing photo, on natural colours. pleasant scene and nice memories for you.

How well I recognize this kind of event. So many kids I have met in my journeys, some truly nice and occasionally others that have got so agitated by their curiosity and the wish to impress on their friends that they started throwing rocks or tried to steal things. In most cases we've just had fun and I have walked away with some nice photos. This one is just from the "fun level", good humour and good colors and a view of the environment they are living in.

This is a charming picture of colourful rural kids, a relaxed informality that you convey so well here in such an environment. Certainly not camera shy and different, reactions & expressions are wonderful from children who are not used to being photographed everyday. I simply can't resist the colour popping as i think it suits the overall image really well. It's an interesting lively group with great sense of atmosphere too. An excellent candid, very well done. Tfs

A great triple portrait and a brilliant note, Way! And you're right -- kids will be completely honest! Two quick stories? One, I was at a meeting where papers for a house sale were being signed. One of the agents was a Chinese-American man. The buyers (immigrants from somewhere in the middle east, I think) brought their children, ad their eldest boy, about age 6, took one look at the agent and said, very loudly, "Jackie Chan!"
The other story is from 1973. I was with a group of about 20 American teenagers traveling through Mexico, and one afternoon we wound up in a fairly remote small mountain village. Only one of our group was African-American, tall and typically thin like many 15-year-olds. But the children of this village came running to him, pencils and paper in hand, seeking an autograph, as they all shouted, "Willie Mays! Willie Mays!"
Finally, congratulations on the fine pun in your title!

A nice group portrait...indeed I liked their facial expressions..something kids from all around the world (not in the developed countries) do, I guess when they see tourists. The mood is uplifting and joyous...that's what I like in this image
Fine work as always!

I found it really difficult to photograph anywhere around or with people in Morocco. They hate cameras and it is a refreshing change to see these kids are so far unaffected by the general popular opinion. Good warm cold colour contrasts between the red and blue attire. Tfs!

This is a really beautiful area, but I believe most part of the tourists that go there are really European from the nearby countries, so you were probably a surprise for them. You know, most part of the little kids in the African villages started crying when they saw us, because they were not used to see people so white.
Their expressions are great, they look curious and funny! You must have spent a great time together. Very good portrait!

Ciao Naughty Boyfriend - or should I say Jacky Chan
This is hilarious: your note, your adorable little models, the photo and the way your personality shines through this image. Love the colour, love the faces these little fellas are pulling, jeez I just want to smile back and try pulling the same faces back at them. Did you pull a face at them too? I bet you did!
This shot is adorable, thanks for sharing it

Behaving like a child, making faces at them?
Only way to obtain such a natural spontaneous grins of the marrocain children, good to travel with time to spare some to share and play some minutes with the locals
Charming capture, hope you are going to show some more
Regards and cheers

My dear, Jacky Chan!
I am making the same face of the kid in the middle to you! I love the energy of this picture. You must have had a great time with these kids. Forget the language barrier. Laughter is a universal language.
So happy that you're still around sharing your beautiful photos!
Maryori, su amiga Colombiana :)

Funny faces indeed! :) This goes to show the connection between photographer and subject, the interaction you mention is conveyed extremely well in this shot. To achieve such emotion while having a fun time pulling faces has resulted in smiles all around. I really enjoy how this brings a sense of amusement, with care for the people and an enjoyment in capturing their character and personality. So much more compelling when done in this manner. Very well executed!
All the best,

so you say Jackie Chan is famous even in Morocco?
Very nice children portrait. It is not as easy as one think to take a good photo of a child -I know it from experience: I have a little daughter and she does not like to be photographed...
Great faces here, they add some nice atmosphere and humour,
very well done!
