The photo shows a group of wild elephants in Munnar Mountains. The baby is hiding between the adult elephants.
Elephants found in Kerala, the Indian Elephants, are one of three recognized subspecies of the Asian Elephant. However, along with a large population of wild elephants, Kerala has more than seven hundred elephants in captivity. Most of them are owned by temples and individuals.
They are used for religious ceremonies in and around the temples, and a few elephants work at timber yards.. As the State Animal, the elephant is featured on the emblem of the Government of Kerala State.

The animals are well placed in the frame. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the elephants. The light is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.

I always find these remarkable animals, and your shot of them here in a natural environment is beautiful. The lush green grass would I guess provide many nice meals for this family! I love the coloring of them too, especially the brown (mud??) on their backs.
All the best

Good evening Miro,
Elephants are beautiful animals, and especially when seeing in nature. Usually we get to see Elephants in zoo's and/or circus. Fine green pasture, lavish and rich in texture, and looks tasty for them. An excelent clear image, every detail on them looks fantastic.
Have a nice weekend,

I like very much the 3D effect and the contrasting tones and textures that make the elephants stand out against a striking, homogeneous backdrop. Your tight faming has rendered them more imposing and has enhanced the interest and impact of the scene. You've handled the different demands of exposure very effectively and have achieved remarkable sharpness. I like how they are so close and at the same time express an intriguing individuality. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great Sunday,

What a great experience to watch elephants free not at a zoo or worse at circus
In India they work but are free to enjoy family life as seen in your capture
Like the very green tropical vegetation that they are eating and surround them
Great shot and place to be

Salut cher Miro
Ahhh this is so adorable. The little elephants are so cute and wonderful. I love the bright colours, the sharpness and the way you positioned these little babies to the right corner of the frame, surrounded by the vibrant greenery.

I've only seen elephants in a zoo, so this is treat to view them in their natural habitat. Knowing how large these creatures are, I really like how you've allowed for extra space in this composition to get a sense of the environment and how they fit in. Too bad we can't quite see the baby, but enough to know it's there...which is actually a fun little element of "hide and seek." :) Well focused with sharp detail, vivid color and plenty of natural light. This turned out really well, a great and spontaneous moment captured with a lot of appeal and interest. Hope you're having a good weekend. Take care.

You're capturing well this scene by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see wild elephants family on green grass which are eating grass. An elephant is an animal always loved.

I like the beautiful event with the light and the colour management to enhance the beauty of the scene.

Not something one sees every day definitely a different subject of such wonderful beast - family of ellies in the wild. An interesting subject and by zooming straight in to get reasonably close which adds the impact in green environment. This is awesome wildlife shot and It must be a great experience to see them on the move to give it real atmosphere and help us to imagine being there. A really amazing experience you had, lovely vivid color and clarity which really enhances the picture. This is great capture. Congrats

Until reading your note where you point out the baby elephant hiding behind the adults, I had not picked it out. These appear as massive well fed creatures, and perhaps in better shape than some of their African cousins. I imagine these animals, however, can be trained, unlike the African counterparts.

Good to see them so free! I like the way you framed them and it's a simple but good composition - just them and the grass. I like it!
