Lyon's 'Hotel de Ville' (City Hall).

It has been built in 1646 by Simon Maupin, then restaured in 1674 after a fire that partly destroyed it... All the inside decoration and furniture had been changed during the Second Empire (1852-1870).

The City Hall is one of the numerous very interesting architectural realisations in Lyon's Peninsula (Presqu'ile, between the two rivers: Rhone & Saone.) Other exemples come from the Roman Empire, the middle-ages, the Renaissance, XIXht century, and of course modern realizations.

Lyon has a very interesting night lighting of its buildings, that I hope I showed here... In this place, there are 68 small fountains, in the ground. And a big one in the north, built by Bartholdi. The total number of fountains is then 69... that is exactly the number of the Rhône's department wich Lyon is the main city.

One of my firsts night shots. But why this car just decided to stop there at that moment ??!

Pretty City Hall you have in Lyon! I liked, but to me the picture is a little inclinated to the right.
If you have possibility, take another picture in an another angle, like that: Mourisco Castle.
A close one in the details of the façade will gave a good picture too I think, see that my: Real Gabinete

Great note you write!
Keep posting!

Nice picture, with good lighting. There is a small problem with the horizon, but i like it a lot. Your notes are very detailed.

grand, beautifully done! there is a slight tilt which can be corrected with pp work. otherwise you've handled everything perfectly...nice!

Bonjour Youssef,
Bonne journee,
jean-Yves

What a grand building. Night photography is so fun. Maybe next time you can try a longer exposure by raising the f-stop, just to compare.
And your note about the car was amusing too :)

Bonjour Youssef,

Wow, good picture. Good work!
