Wadi Rum or the Valley of the Moon is the largest wadi or valley in Jordan. It is located between Petra and Aqaba in southern Jordan. This place gained fame owing to a few visits by a certain T. E. Lawrence during the Arab revolts in the early 1900's.
Wadi Rum is a popular destination for travellers because it offers some stunning landscapes thanks to its rock formations and natural bridges. There are bright orange and pink dunes and huge areas covered with scrub vegetation. This desert is also significant because it has traces of the ancient Nabatean civilisation in the form of carvings on some of the rocky walls.
