Photographer’s Note
Simplon pass (2055 mt) Wallis, Switzerland. You can see a strange bird... a big eagle carved in the rock watches you passing on the road.
The picture was taken after sunset, F8, 1/3'' (the temperature was -18°C... no gloves... and my hands - and my wife - damned me while I was arranging the tripod!)

Hi Stefano. I visited the Simplon Pass in 1996 when I toured around Europe although it was the middle of the summer and it certainly wasn't -18. I remember the huge bird of prey.
I like the photo, as we still have detail in the snow, as well as the outline of the monument against the sky. Nice work. Tell your wife it was worth the stop.
