End of April or May is the beggining of Southern Monsoon season in the Maldives.
It rains a lot in the early afternoons and at nights, but you still have lots of sun over there during the day and even a 2 hours walk around the tropical island is enough to give a dark tan on your skin. It is said to be the most rainy season in June and July. A tip for honeymooners...

a shot full of drama and carefully composed so that the effect is just stunning and awesome. Love the lines and sense that we are standing in the water, but it is your light management that makes the impact so impressive. Excellent!
Need to get your blower out Deniz and zap those pesky dust spots off your sensor! (Top right) :-)
Enjoy the weekend - Brian.

Can´t resist praising this one too. Even though I´m not a fan of beach vacations, this looks fab!
But, where is everybody? You usually can´t find scenes like this without people!
The bridge is really going all the way into the dangerous darkness here. Kepp Your camera dry, though!

Bu ne muhteşem bir mavilik. Bu ne etkileyici bir sonsuzluk. Muson mevsimi olması fotoğrafı bence daha da etkileyici kılmış.

The monsoon can offer some magical moments sometimes and this is one of them! The contrast between the really dark sky and the turquoise water is amazing, specially with the sun light! Seems you're the only brave one there:)!

Great !!! Marvelous !

What a light!
The colorful and luminous blue-green on the sea and then the deep dark blue grey in the stormy sky.
The infinite pier is making the frontier between both.

this would not be a good photo to advertise Maldives. I like it very much though. The dark clouds contrasts so well with the turquoise waters of the ocean. It seems almost like two photos merged together: one taken at the good weather and another during the storm and then merged together in the photoshop.
Excellent work, very impressive.

another colorful and striking photo.
its easy to see the horizon line with that contrast in the aqua and royal blues.
that bridge is so long! I'd love to take a walk along it and feel the peace of the atmosphere.
wickedly cool clouds, getting ready for the storm in the evening i suppose.
I've really enjoyed viewing your series from the Maldives, nice work my friend

Oh, I loved those clouds...so 3D and so real! They look like dancing animation...am I seeing things?
The pier is fantastic providing a great perspective. The water colour is so unreal, so surreal...compare to the muddy waters we get in Mumbai. I loved the turquoise!
I didn't have to go to Maldives to get a tan...I got it in Turkey itself!
Tips : Make extensive walks under the strong sun in Cappadocia and Pamukkale...

Amazing contrast of colors. i like the little pier that seems to go to infinity.
ourania (49771) 2013-06-30 0:35
this is a superb picture that wisely allows the scenery, the light and the colours tell the story and charm the viewer. I think it's great to divide the frame in half between the luminosity and softness of the water and the suggestive greyness and agitation in the sky. The pier intervenes in a decisive and attractive way and, without a precise sense of scale, reaches a dark spot on the horizon. Such an evocative moment shown so beautifully. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great Sunday,
