Photographer’s Note

On the way from London to Scotland we stopped in the Lake District. This is one of the many beautiful tranquil lakes we enjoyed there - Grasmere.

In order to address a critique and see if I can improve on the processing I am re-posting this image. I think the original was oversharpened and oversaturated. I tried to avoid making the same mistake again. Another thing I did was to try and put a bit of colour back into the overexposed sky. Has it worked? Let us see!

This is sheer tranquility. These strong, lively trees in contrast to the still water, and yet in pefect harmony. I like it a lot.

Beautiful POV and framing, Nina!
ALso, the composition and perspective allow us to see different layers of this natural beauty.
God colours, fine reflections in the lake and the sky looks really good now.
You created a really good atpmosphere here.

This is beautiful. You have brought the scenery out in all its glory. Whatever you did has worked a treat and it's going into my favourites. It's a wonderful capture, sharp, clear and that mirror image on the water is superb. Excellent composition Nina, well done.

Beautiful Grasmere Nina. look at those reflections on the water. No complaints from me with either shot - the 1st one was a bit darker, but I like this one as it is easier o see the trunks of the trees.

A very fine atmosphere - your title say it all - I like the little hazy background and the fine mix of objects in the front - thanks Nina a very fine job.

I like the original as well - perhaps even more.

Looking at this photograph , one feels like moving beyond these trees and capturing the Lake and the lush green shore on the other side of the Lake.
