Photographer’s Note

In 2003, a massive fire tore through Okanagan mountain park and various other parts of British Columbia. Okanagan Mountain park, was decimated and to this day (2005) the park is still closed. We looked around the entrance and it's quite striking, rows and rows of burnt trees, but many opportunist species quickly making inroads to surround these burnt sticks with brightly coloured flowers.

Without other objects in the frame, the scale is hard to determine, but is irrelevent. The green of the plant is a great focus with the dark backgroud.
