An "impressionist's sunset" from Harpoon Henry's in North Cape May, NJ ... people line the restaurant rail and the edge of the beach to watch the sun go down over the Delaware Bay. Wonderful view.

I love the collective humanity of a great sunset - people just line up to ooh and aah, to photograph, and just to appreciate. Rare to see one over water on the East Coast - not many spots where that's possible, really, beyond Cape Cod, Cape May and Florida.
You've captured some really brilliant colors here, and nice delicate light on the water adds to the feel. Your framing, with the small figures at the very bottom of the screen, enhances the scale (as well as reminds me of the old Mystery Science Theater 3000 show...)

I was thinking more Turner than Van Gogh, but what a great image. The framing is spot on, to include the silhouetted people at the bottom and the differing cloud patterns above, while the lighting and tonal range really does give an impressionist perspective. Love it!

Wow, yes, very "Van Gogh." Nothing like a sunset over the bay. They tend to be almost supernaturally colorful in Jersey towards late August for some reason. I have a few photos of Barnegat Bay around this time, a little north of where you are. Haven't been down there this year, but you remind me of what I missed.
Thanks for the view.

What a lovely chemtrail clouds. I would never say the chemicals can be so attractive for the eyes.
