"Portrait" of Puffing Billy taken during one of the stops between Belgrave and Gembrook. This locomotive was built in 1901 and has been restored as near as practicable to "as new" condition of two-tone green color with white lining, low-height bunker, extended side tanks, etc.
The Puffing Billy Railway is a narrow gauge Heritage railway in the Dandenong Ranges in State of Victoria, close to Melbourne.
The Puffing Billy Railway is kept in operation through the efforts of volunteers of the Puffing Billy Preservation Society, although intensive year-round operations necessitate a small band of paid employees to keep things going behind the scenes.
The railway owns every remaining narrow-gauge locomotive of the former Victorian Railways, and has restored to operating condition all except one, although not all are in serviceable condition at any one time.
Puffing Billy also offers driver experience days on the smaller steam engines. See also my B&W photo of Puffing Billy locomotive posted earlier.

A very well composed shot. I like all the steam billowing around the engine, and including the station name plate in the shot is a nice touch. Good sharpness and clarity.

I addition to the above comments; It is not just an isolated portrait of Puffing Billy, your image connects well to your notes about its location in the Dandenong ranges by your inclusion of the tall trees (Eucalyptus or Angophora?)from the Dandenong ranges in the background.

Bon cadrage serré sur le devant de la locomotive, les détails et les couleurs avec le jeu des vapeur, une belle réalisation

I thought I had already reviewed this - but did not. Steam-engines is a fascinating subject for me - as we do not have even one single locomotive in Israel, not in a working/running ability anyway.
Fabulous view on the front, smoke puffing from sides and pipe's. Excelent clear image, forest BG - all must be so much fun to see.
