Series on my trip to the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA) - NORTH AMERICA - Visiting LAS VEGAS, LAKE MEAD, HOOVER DAM, RED ROCK CANYON and the VALLEY OF FIRE (NEVADA), the GRAND CANYON - WEST AND SOUTH RIMS (ARIZONA), BRYCE CANYON, RED CANYON and ZION CANYON (UTAH) and finally CHICAGO (ILLINOIS) - From APRIL 05th to 24th, 2012 - # 014 !

FLYING OVER THE GRAND CANYON'S WEST RIM !

The main reason I went to LAS VEGAS was to visit its surroundings (nearby or not). One of the options was to know the GRAND CANYON'S WEST RIM (by bus, by car or by helicopter)! Since I really didn't know whether I'd ever go back there, I decided to do everything I could, so, my tour to that place included: a bus from LAS VEGAS to BOULDER CITY; a plane from BOULDER CITY to the GRAND CANYON'S WEST RIM, flying over the HOOVER DAM and LAKE MEAD; a helicopter, flying over the CANYON and going down to the COLORADO RIVER; a boat, navigating in the COLORADO RIVER; a helicopter, going up again to the edges to the CANYON; a bus to visit the surroundings, including in the SKYWALK in the EAGLE'S POINT and finally, a plane, back to BOULDER CITY and a bus, back to LAS VEGAS!

This picture was taken while going up, from the COLORADO RIVER to the airport in the edges of the GRAND CANYON'S WEST RIM, in a helicopter!

An interesting composition of an amazingly beautiful Canyon. Accounted for as great in terms of color and sharpness. Beautifully photographed. I really like it.

Hi Neyvan, it sound a marvelous trip, with so much flights by helicopter a nd going down to the Canyon. Unusual view of the canyon from above. Excellent sharpness and POV :). Interesting colours of Colorado River.

Wow, this is from an air plane, that is so nice, a POV not many can see, unless on the air plane like you. beautiful, one the better shot of Grand Canyon I have seen in a while. Beautiful rich color, great POV and composition.

Olá Neyvan,
poco se puede decir de esta foto, porque la impresionante belleza salvaje del Grand Canyon no necesita palabras para describirla.
Pero tú tuviste la inmensa suerte de poder ver esa belleza personalmente, y evidentemente, tomaste una foto aérea espléndida, que nos muestra este lugar único bajo una bonita luz y con unos bellos colores.
Es una composición excelente.

know this place so well, and have done a flight over the canyon, but my shots were not as stunning as this. I love the colours and the textures here plus the clear view of the river. It is so excellently captured and presented. Awesome!

I think the Grand Canyon would look good from any direction, north, south, east or west, as seen here! Good sharpness & nice warm cold color contrasts between the red rock & blue sky. Tfs!

wow, this is very impressive photo. I am ashamed to admit it but I have never heard about this part of the canyon. I have visited the North and South Rim but this seems like a completely new part of the park. I like very much the aspect of the river clearly visible here. Fantastic colors. I like it very much and definitely must go there next time.

WOW! You have been a busy boy! That sounds like a trip of a lifetime! Probably it was very expensive but, as you say, if you do not know if you are going to be coming back again, it really is worth it.

And it has been worth it for this wonderful photograph! I prewume that this one was from the helicopter. You have managed to achieve an excellent composition, the river perfectly placed in the frame, and we can clearly see all the rock strata all around in perfect detail.

Lovely colours, fine lighting, perfect exposure and stunning sharpness.

que visita complicada ! vc usou tudo quanto é tipo de meio de transporte, só faltaram as mulas. haha
imagino que deva ter conhecido bem esta maravilha da natureza.
esta foto tem maravilhosos detalhes, linda luz e nitidez.uma pena as águas do rio estarem sujas, caso contrário ajudariam a quebrar os excessos de dourados da parte baixa. bem feito.
