BARCINO is the Roman name for Barcelona.

BARCINO sculpture is a visual poem of Joan Brossa.
It is located in the Plaça Nova de Barcelona, in front of the Episcopal Palace.

It is a curious sculpture that forms the word Barcino, the short name of Roman Barcelona, who actually called Colonia Iulia Augusta Paterna Faventia Barcino. This ideogram was created by Brossa in 1992 and placed in the streets of Barcelona in 1994, shortly before his death.

Se encuentra en la Plaça Nova de Barcelona, delante del Palacio Episcopal.

Se trata de una curiosa escultura que forma la palabra Barcino, el nombre corto romano de Barcelona, que en realidad se denominaba Colonia Iulia Augusta Faventia Paterna Barcino. Este ideograma fue creado por Brossa en 1992 y se colocó en la calle de Barcelona en 1994, poco antes de su muerte.

Hello Carlos,

Interesting sculpture work. You've captured it very well besides the strong light. I liked the depth sense you've achieved using a strong diagonal perspective. The textures on the old wall in the BG looks very intriguing too. Thanks for sharing. Have a nice Sunday,

Hi Carlos, I Haven't known the old name of Barcelona is barcino. Interesting sculpture. Nice diagonal composition.

like this composition it is so compelling and effective. The lines and diagonal slice in the fg entices and works perfectly. Execution is flawless as always and this is an irresistable presentation.

He visto muchas fotos de este lugar y tengo que decirte que ninguna tan buena como esta. Espléndida definición y precioso detalle de tonos y formas de la pared de la muralla.
