NamDee sunset, a photo from Louangnamtha, North

Photographer's Note

This view is taken from Ban Nam Dee, a Lanten ethnic village famous for producing handwoven textiles, located about 7 km from Luang Nampta township. It is set among scenic green rice fields, rivers and surrounded by a beautiful mountains.

I simply love the moment watching alone as the sun dips beyond filling the sky with soft orange glow and layers of rising mist diluting the colors, as natures paint the landscape...

bel degradare di colori dal primo piano fino ad arrivare al magnifico clore del cielo. Certo, un controluce molto difficile da gestire ma te la sei cavata egregiamente offrendo una foto molto suggestiva.

Hello Abmdsudi,
a wonderful heartwarming sunset, a serene and suggestive moment. The composition is superb with the glorious sun placed at the side of the frame leaving space for the landscape. The dilution of the tones of the hills until they become almost transparent is mesmerising. In the mist and haze of the moment, the van stands out in a lovely way, it's a very nice focal point with which the viewer can connect. I love the spectacular and quiet atmosphere. Strangely enough, here you show us a marvellous sunset and several fine ranges of forested hills increasingly more hazy in nice blue tones, and yet I think it's that truck at the very bottom that will stay in my mind. I don't know why, really. Maybe it looks like a lonely truck eager to go home before it gets too dark.

How small we humans are in the face of Mother Nature. That's the first thing that strikes me when I look at this beautiful photo. Superb exposition, and atmosphere. The haze in the background adds to the romantic atmosphere. Superb colours and light management.

This is a nice , tranquil picture more resembling a painting, save for the van in the fg. Wonderful colours, the mist has actually helped giving it the romantic ambience. Light management is excellent.

I like the atmosphere captured in this stunning sunset composition. The different tiers of hills and vegetation with foggy layers are truly fabulous against the vibrant horizon and ball of fire. The passing truck along these rural setting adds interest in the frame.

Wow, this is almost like my sunrise, or some of my sunset in Laos. the way the hazy and humid air allow the sun to show without super bright and hurt's your eyes when looking straight at it. This is absolutely moody and full of nostalgic atmosphere for me and other as well.

It is the mood that you captured and as much as the landscape.

Hi Abmdsudi,
what a nice scene you have caught in this capture!
I like the orange tonalities, that they give a great warmth to the sky, with the Sun that will disappear behind the hills in a few minutes.
The mist between these hills creates a precious layer of grey, that combines with the green of this beautiful landscape with a great graphical efficiency.
And the car in the low part of the framing adds a nice dynamism and a good reference to the composition.
A fine work, I like it.

This picture just oozes atmosphere. The pick-up truck, returning home, a meal and a bed waiting somewhere at the end of the road, probably some smiling faces too...
