Photographer's Note

A playground or play area is a place with a specific design for children be able to play there. It may be indoors but is typically outdoors (where it may be called a tot lot in some regions.
Modern playgrounds often have recreational equipment such as the seesaw, merry-go-round, swingset, slide, jungle gym, chin-up bars, sandbox, spring rider, monkey bars, overhead ladder, trapeze rings, playhouses, and mazes, many of which help children develop physical coordination, strength, and flexibility, as well as providing recreation and enjoyment. Common in modern playgrounds are play structures that link many different pieces of equipment.
Playgrounds often also have facilities for playing informal games of adult sports, such as a baseball diamond, a skating arena, a basketball court, or a tether ball.
Public playground equipment refers to equipment intended for use in the play areas of parks, schools, child care facilities, institutions, multiple family dwellings, restaurants, resorts, and recreational developments, and other areas of public use.

Hello Barbara,

Indeed in my city are almost everyday grandmother or grandfather busy with grandchildren in the playground, but I see also on the apparatus.
Very quiet place without the sound of the children.
Sharpness and clarity are pleasant.
Excellent presentation, lovely composition.

Contrast of the red playground structure, with it's intense tone, stand-out to the surrounding green, Barbara.

A very brave shot from you. I don't know about Houston, but here in Australia, anyone with a camera near a playground is viewed with suspicion. Not a nice thing for those of us who love photography and have no intention of doing anything bad with the photo. I sometimes think the world has got a little too protective and politically correct. Anyway, thanks for your colourful photo and note. It has given me pause for thought.
