Photographer's Note

One late afternoon in July 2009 we came across this small group of heritage fishing huts located on the island of Tjörn. It is not in a location that you would just happen to find while touring. We were about to stay for 2 nights in a nearby sommar stuga (summer cottage)belonging to the family of our daugter-in-law. With a hand drawn map and a description of their cottage it took about 4 hours of searching before we found it. Many 'streets' were nothing more than 'bush tracks' without names. After finally settling in we went for a late walk and by accident came across this fabulous scene just as the light was fading quickly. There was not much time for planning the shots. I ran from vantage point to vantage point and obtained about 10 shots before it bacame too dark. Camera was hand held, image stabilisation switched on and aperture priority set. Sky darkened using gradient tool in LR3. Some dodging and burning to accentuate highlights on grasses.
