Photographer's Note
I am back home from Spain. I visited many cities and in spite of not always good weather I enjoyed my trip very much. When you meet friends (from TE) the weather is not so important!
My main goal was the challenge to make the photos of Calatrava Center in Valencia. I saw many gorgeous photos of this place on TE and I am a bit shy to present my shots. I went there two times - during the day, with the sun shining and clear blue sky and then again in dusk to try blue hour photos.
The Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències is an entertainment-based cultural and architectural complex in the city of Valencia.
It is situated at the end of the former riverbed of the river Turia, which was drained and rerouted after a catastrophic flood in 1957. The old riverbed was turned into a picturesque sunken park.
Designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela, the project was inaugurated April 16, 1998 with the opening of L'Hemisfèric.
L'Hemisfèric — an Imax Cinema, Planetarium and Laserium. The building is meant to resemble a giant eye, also known as the planetarium or the “eye of knowledge,” it is the centerpiece of the City of Arts and Sciences. Its design resembles an eyelid that opens to access the surrounding water pool.
For me, viewed from this side it resembles rather a huge insect.
I HAD tripod with me but finally I left it in in the hotel. I had to move around quickly and besides, I wouldn't know anyway how to use it. (Silly...)

Hello Malgorzata,
Your photo of one of the buildings in Calatrava City is alsoe of the most beautiful depictions I've seen of the complex. Last August we were there, and I am a huge admirer of Mr. Calatrava. (Unlike many Venetians, I love the Calatrava Bridge even.) Warm regards, Malgo,

Ciao Malgorzata,

Czesc Malgorzata,
jestes coraz lepsza w swoich zdjeciach blue hour.
Choc trundo w to moze teraz uwierzyc bo sa wspaniale :)
Super kosmiczny futurystyczny krajobraz. Juz widzialem kilka zdjec z tego parku. Niesamowite no i taka pora dnia, takie swiatlo jeszcze wzmacnia efekt.

So you're back home are you? It looks like you had a lot of fun in Spain. Yes this does look like an insect, a beetle or something. I love the dusky pink colours and the wonderful graphism of Calatrava. Nice work and welcome back.
Un abbraccio

Hello Malgo,
Yes, I think it's a good idea to visit the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències at daytime and again at nighttime ... or to stay there till the night falls :)
This picture is clearly of very good quality.
The subject is taken from an excellent angle. You composed it well and I like the contrast made by the light in the sky together with the illuminated parts with the darker parts in the shade.
I'm surprised I see no visitors. I was there once in January and even very late there were many visitors.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Malgo
Si i see that you HAD your tripod, but you 'forgot' it in the hotel room :)
I almost always have mine with me, its my best friend :)
We've seen this insect looking building on TE many times, and I will never get tired of it.
very good photo despite the low light and no tripod.
I really like the lights leading in.
nice shot.
Glad you had a nice trip

Hi Malgo
This 1/2 circle building reminds me of one in Canberra, Australia. http://nla.gov.au/nla.pic-an23474601-v
Impeccable sharpness & nice warm vs cold colour contrasts between the blue grey & orange tints in the sky, & the amber illumination. Tfs!

Hello Mrs. Itchy Feet,
I don't believe you - everyone knows how to use a tripod - it's just such a darn hassle having to carry the thing around with you all the time!
But you have coped very well here in the poor light. O.K., there is a bit of noise but you have caught the lovely light in the building, its surroundings and the sky very well indeed. Good composition with the line of the water's edge leading us into the picture, good colours and excellent detail and sharpness.
And, as always, a very interesting note!
Brilliant!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Margo,
Very nice shot of this famous location, it has been featured here by many, you have a really beautiful light here with the evening colors.
Good POV, the lack of people give a sense of peaceful atmosphere.
