Escaping from the waves

The mountain that the legend as the summer residence of the Olympian gods and the magic land of the Centaurs, imposing and towering green over Volos, between Pagasitikos Gulf and the Aegean Sea.
Stn magical atmosphere of Pelion landscape merges with the story legend, wild with the tranquil, yesterday and today.
Here were the divine wedding of Peleus and Thetis, who praised Homer, Pindar and Euripides.
From here began n legendary Argo with Jason and the Argonauts for the long journey stiv Colchis in search of the "Golden Fleece".
Near the wise centaur Chiron have studied the demigods Achilles and Hercules and taught Asclepius Medical tiv.
Apart from the myth, the signs tns historic course of Pelion through the centuries reflected in the ruins ancient cities, the ruins of medieval castles and monuments of early Christian basilicas.
From the 12th century Pelion appear on the historical scene as a "monastic city" thanks to the many monasteries built in mountainous and safe places by monks from Mount Athos.
Throughout the years, around the monasteries of Mount Pelion established new settlements, which the movement of populations from the coast, organized in towns and villages in Ottoman stiv obtain government benefits and riv with subsequent economic and cultural peak during the second half of the 18th century.
Thus, the villages of Pelion are converted into real museums of folk art and architecture. The figures of proud towers, temples basilica type with wooden screens and exquisite icons, cobblestone streets, the squares dewy, stone fountains and bridges, are preserved composing ... the unique scenery of Pelion.
Over But from all this is paradise fysn of Pelion and be in ecstasies that attracts numerous visitors.
Wild, dysvatn and lush vegetation katnforizei to the shores of the Aegean, the eastern side of the calm, serene, seeded with picturesque villages and beaches leeward side of Pagasitikos.
The uniqueness of the Greek landscape is condensed in this miracle of nature called Pelion, where the rustling of the trees is one of the mountain with the sea breeze tps and in our imagination hear the podovolita, conflicts and loves of the Centaurs.

Il n'est pas bon d'aller faire un tour sur cette promenade en bord de mer.
Les vagues sont furieuses et crachent leur écume avec fracas contre la digue.
L'image est réalisée avec beaucoup de talent.

hai colto un momento davvero bello con un ottimo tempismo. Mi piace moltissimo vedere questo uomo in bici che sfida il maltempo e la forza del mare, da un punto di vista fotografico è un gran bel soggetto.
Molto buona la composizione, il formato e la qualità.

I love it when someone can use CS5 and not destroy the photo. This guy is in trouble for sure, he needs to ride a bit faster and more to his left. Anyway the photo is perfectly presented and with wonderful warm and cold colors. Great clarity and detail to surroundings. Love your POV and DOF Costantino!!

Πολύ θεαμάτικά αυτά τα κύματα, έχεις αιχμαλωτίσει όλη την ενέργεια και δύναμη του αέρα και της θάλασσας. Εξαιρετική η γωνία λήψης, η διαγώνιος της προκυμαίας και της κίνησης του γενναίου ποδηλάτη, που παρά την προσπάθεια που καταβάλλει νομίζω ότι απολαμβάνει την εμπειρία. Νομίζω ότι τον καταλαβαίνω καλά. Μου αρέσουν πολύ η προοπτική, ο φωτισμός, τα χρώματα, οι αντανακλάσεις και η ατμόσφαιρα. Συγχαρητήρια και ευχαριστώ!

This image seems very dynamism, a really splashing churning sea down there, with that foam and great explosion of enormous wave breaking on the pier. The shutter speed is just right to catch to how the slight motion effect displaying the sheer power of nature on this rather gloomy day.
