Photographer's Note

The Fernsehturm, a television tower located in the city centre of Berlin closed to the Alexanderplatz. It was constructed between 1965 and 1969 by the former German Democratic Republic administration who intended it as a symbol of Berlin, which it remains today. With its height of 368 meters, it is the tallest structure in Germany. More on: Wikipedia.

Hi Malgorzata
interesting choice to present this one in the monochrome theme.
I would also like to see it in color :)
what really makes this photo work in my opinion are the varying shades of darkness (closer to the bottom, and brightness closer to the top).
it just seems to work well visually that way.
love the tall tower and its position inside the frame.
this is a new vantage point of this often photographed TV tower, i like it!

really one of the landmarks of our captitol city Berlin.. and in my humble opinion it looks great two in Nlack and white outfit.. looks a bit old-fashioned, and therefore i like it!

Hello dear Malgorzata,
I don't know if you had ever heard the joke from Paris.
A Parisian been asked which part of Paris is his (or her) favorite. The answer; the top of the Eiffel Tower.
This is the only point in Paris, from where you can not see the Eiffel !
Thesame relates to this ugly landmark of former East-Berlin.
But the b&w capture is just perfect with it's pov and layout.
Nice framing as well.

Hello Malgorzata,
a wonderful composition and a great choice of black and white format make this picture delightful and elegant. I like very much the perspective and depth, the different styles and angles of the buildings that render the cityscape very interesting. The top of the tower surrounded by the powerful light makes a great contrast and a very strong impression. Well done and thank you!

a very well composed picture with all htse vertical lines given by the different towers,and a nice use if the curve of the road on the foregroung.The B&W gives a nice harmony and the sky is superb.

The famous needle in Berlin, on the darkening B&W sky's, a nice perspective collected, Malgorzata.
I climb a simila tower in Toronto and Macau, must be a fabulous experience here as well.
I wonder why not a colors version, assuming grey sky prevailed.

Missed this one. A superb b&w image of the tower. There are so many of them now all around the world: Sydney, Toronto, Calgary, Shanghai, KL, Tianjin & here in Germany. The v shaped path at left adds lead in lines. Good sharpness & tonal range. Tfs!

Hello Malgorzata. My last visit to Berlin's many years ago. Therefore, I like to see pictures of our capital. The TV tower is of course an ideal subject for photographers. Black and white is a good choice. Also I really like the composition.
