Yuntaishan Geopark, a photo from Henan, Central

Photographer's Note

China is the land of a million staircases. When they see a hill or a mountain they want to build or carve steps to the top. In the tradition of the Great Wall I suppose. So one better be fit.

Geoparks are very much the in-thing. Yuntaishan Geopark covers a fabulous gorge with cliffs and streams and bridges in its red sandstone formations. A strenuous walk and a great pleasure to experience.

PS: Note the profile of the "Emperor" just left of top centre. One can clearly see the eye, cheek, nose and lips as well as the headband. If the Chinese notice this they probably will turn it into another tourist attraction. Maybe they have already.

The people add scale, & the little weir & waterfall with the double arched bridge is quaint. Good reflections & excellent sharpness & graphism. No argument at all on the steps. They are everywhere in China! Have a safe & happy Easter!

What an amazing view in a beautiful natural setting and we are very small in front of nature and almost nothing. I like everything about this; the comp, the tones, detail and contrasting colors and atmospehere it evokes, and the most attractive is the pov and 'feel' of it and the mist in the distance, The contrast in the colours, the water cascading down and the almost sculptured look to the formation is totally amazing. Inclusion of human element just adds that dimension and perspective. I really enjoy the sense of space and great distance effect, A really clean shot, a feast to the eyes no doubt, so well composed and crispy sharp. It's a delightful image well taken. Congrats

such a special shot of the unique and special place in China. The rock formation is so peculiar and it is wonder to be there and experience the uniqueness.

nice the view of this part of Yuntaishan Geopark with the lots of sharp rocks bridges and water falls to dominate the place creating this fabulous scenery.I like the narrow alleys under the rocks as the mystic of the atmosphere.

one more splendid place of China,this country is really impressive, there is so much splendid place, like here.And even if sometimes I would have prefered that these places stay wilder, we have to admit that this is with a great pleasure that we can walk inside,like this, with the stairs. Your POV is superb,and we can see very well the face in the rocks.
