Photographer's Note
We had a horrid two or three days in Scotland recently with sleet, snow and very strong winds. But, thankfully, the weather now appears to be improving and this was taken yesterday when there were some lovely periods of quite bright sunshine. Almost all the snow had disappeared off the ground with the exception of the distant hills which still had an attractive covering.
You can see from where I took this one if you look at this map and drag the little yellow man down to the red cross and then look eastward.
A local farmer unwittingly obliged by driving past on his little bright red off-road buggy!

Hi John
pleased to see some green again instead of all white stuff. A great composition and enticing view, looks so beautiful against the snow covered hills. Excellent lines and light make this an attractive and captivating image. Love it!
Have a great Easter weekend - Brian.

Hi John,
A beautiful spring landscape and surely one of my favourites. The greenery in front of the snowy mountains are looking so great. Beautiful colors, sharpness, POV. Nice composition.

Ciao John,
the beauty of this photo for me more than the beautiful landscape is the choice of framing and POV, the prospect of the piles to the sides of the road adds considerable depth, light and colors are delicious, the red color of the tractor draws the eye and gives motion the scene...
wonderful shot...

Hello John,
This is a fine pov, with the road as an inviting guide, towards that attractive, red, focal image. The road leads to a strong disappearing point, when the majesty of those snow covered hills takes over.
How good it is to have the snow so far away; picturesque but not hazardous!
Great dof to enrich this lovely scenery.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello John,
Oh, so this is what spring looks like. I don't know what it's like in Gothenburg, but in Stockholm it has been snowing most of the day and at least the trees are now back to white.
This photo radiates an atmosphere of fresh air and a recent spring cleaning. Such lush green fields, a clear sky, bright light and a red buggy. It's a tremendous view where the fences help to create good downhill depth.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi John,
Well, I know what the weather in Gothenburg is today, rainy with a hint of snow. As I said earlier, your weather in Scotland always hits us six hours later, so I guess we will have good weather on Saturday...
This is a very, very beautiful view and I appreciate the red eye-catcher. So the yellow man has been here too, of course I could have asked him when I saw him, where he was about to turn up next time...
Kind regards and Happy Easter

Hello John, that little red buggy is so well placed, it adds the icing to a fine shot.
The fences along the wavy road lead nicely into the scene, whilst the well lit snow capped distant mountains are a delight.
The composition is impeccable and the image super sharp, lovely.
Best wishes Les.

Hello John,
a wonderful vast landscape captured during the fascinating transition from winter to spring. I like very much the perspective offered by the road and fences, superbly placed in the frame. The depth of the view and the clarity throughout are amazing. I love the colours, the variations of lighting, the shadows on the snowy mountains and the delightful addition of the red vehicle. A beautiful picture, thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,
Ourania

Hi John, This is fantastic, like a large watercolour of this gorgeous scene, love your Pov, with the fences taking us down the road and on to those fantastic rolling mountains. Wonderful. Brilliant management, Cheers Iain.
Ps, Bit concerned with the guys who paint the white lines, have they had one or two many nips from their flask, the line is a bit wibble wobble, ha ha.

Hi John,
I see not much spring here, the first what I notice are the snow covered hills. but it is some green already and it seems to me I see sheep grazing. Beautiful wide panorama and this red buggy placed in the strong point. very nice fresh shot.
have a wo nderful Easter with family

Une très jolie photo de paysage agrémentée par la présence du véhicule rouge bien placé et par les montagnes enneigées en arrière plan.

Hello John,
now I could have taken a snow-photo, just half an hour ago, when I left the supermarket, but I did not have my camera with me.
Your photo is very nice with the snow covered hills, but I, too, would have liked to see the little lamb. I can imagine how you feel about this lost chance. Some days ago I read the Sunday Times-article you linked in one of your discussions about taking photos of people. And I agree: it is very important to show faces, that´s why facebook is growing rapidly. People are always interested in people. I decided to post more pictures dealing with "the human factor", as many as my stock permits and the resonance is to my liking.
Kind regards, thanks for the link,
nice easter weekend

Hi John,
This photo makes me think about David Lynch's film The Straight Story, maybe the farmer crosses Scotland to see his brother again ! A well composed picture, with the road guiding our look and the farmer inviting us to follow him to discover the beauty of scottish spring.

Olivier
