Photographer’s Note
Why is Monschau so special? The town has extraordinarily well-preserved houses that are centuries old, tucked into a peaceful, hilly landscape. The houses are half-timbered topped with high slate roofs, some of them richly colored and ornate.
The city is 30km south of Aachen in the extreme west of Germany, close to Belgium.
This is the winter version of this fantastic picture by Hanssie : Monschau
Not as nice as the summer version but still a beautiful place, don't you think ?
Also this picture from the same day, same city : Medieval Houses I

This looks like an advertisement for tourists, like postcard - good one. Nice winter view. Very good composition too. I can`t say any negative - even it should say some improvements, but I can`t.

Woow beautiful and very special these houses.... Such a beautiful picture with nice perspective and such lovely houses, funny that they don't seem that old. Really great!

Half-timbered houses are a pleasure to the eye. They introduce a human element into buildings. Instead of being made of perfectly horizontal and vertical lines, half-timbered houses have many irregularities due to the unperfect lines of natural wood. A nice picture. Interesting to compare with the summer version also.

Wow, a little fairytale! Great atmosphere. Nice cold colours. Good point of view, because all the lines are going to the right. Just perfect!

Ha, ha !
That's nice, this is a great picture of this well-known place with a great mood. Also the background with the winter-mountains, very, very nice.
I miss the flowers in the foreground:-))
Thanks for the link, Jacques !

Amicalement.
Daniel.
