Son Catlar is a Bronze Age prehistoric village that probably grew to its present size just prior to the Roman conquest of Menorca in the 3rd-2nd century BC.
Son Catlarīs most particular characteristic is that it is the only settlement in the Balearics that conserves entirely a spectacular cyclopean wall, with with large ireegular stones, without any material to join them. This wall completely surrounds the settlement and is approximately 1 km (.66 mi) in length, with an average width of two meters (6.5 ft). shown is the single known entrance featuring a corridor with a lintel portal and monolithic jambs.
