This is the Mount Batur (Elevation 1717 meters), a still active volcano with 3 craters. On its right, the Lake Batur.
A strange atmosphere there, with a grey smoke coming out and disturbing the light, these clouds swallowing the lake, this so strong Green Island which has resisted to some lava assaults...
Mount Batur is a holy mountain, like all volcanos...well, like everyting in Bali in fact...
Many eruptions during the 20th century, the worst in 1926, a village disapeared.
Well I really like this photo.

Knew this hill immmediately from the thumb. Most people think the black spots are shadows of clouds, but it's lava flows. TFS. nice motorbike ride up there from Ubud...

Hey Cedric! Yuo sure have been around in the world haven't you? :) Good pictures, a little hazy but certainly one of your better ones. I like the fact that the mount is in the left and the slope goes down all the way to the far right. Great clouds aswell. Well done!
With the three bands of sky - mountainside and wood this almost looks like a flag.
Very nice composition. I think it lacks a bit saturation though.
Brings back nice memories of Bali.
Lovely contrast with the black and green. Real atmosphere in the scene. Perfect shape as well.
