Cathedral, a photo from California, West

Photographer's Note

This is an empty warehouse along the waterfront in San Francisco. I loved the way the lighting looked. I took several pictures, but like this the best, from the way the beams look to the how the overhead lighting hangs. The window in the back even makes me think of Rose Windows in cathedrals (that's why I named the photo 'cathedral').

Hi Dawn, and welcome to TE. I like what I can see and the accompanying note helps make sense of the image. Unfortunately the image is very small and therefore the detail is difficult to distinguish.
Looking at the image data the file size is only 30k and it could be 300k. Also the maximum dimensions are 800 pixel on the long edge and you have only created an image 333x25 pixels.
A larger image would be much better for critiquing purposes.

Dobar snimka i perspektiva, lepe boje.
Obratite paznju na ostrinu snimka, radite fotografiju u dozvoljenoj velicini 800 x 800 piksela i 300. kb.

Welcome to TE, Dawn.
I like the repetition of light and shadow here, as it makes a nice pattern. I give you a suggestion for a new version of this picture, if you happen to go there again. Place a person (showing shoulders to the camera) under one of the beamspots. FOr example the closest one (not in the center, but a bit on the left) and expose for the light, so that everything gets darker, and you'll have this mysterious figure standing in the light against the dark. It is the first thing that came to my mind looking at your picture.

I also suggest, next time, to post the picture with the maximum length size (800 pixels).
This one is only 333, and it appears quite small on the screen. I usually keep the size at 800 and then adjust the jpeg size when saving the image, to make it smaller than 300 KB thatt is the maximu allowed.

hola!

this is really nice picture...pure industrial ,with a very nice perspective..i think the sharpness could be better ...and it doesn't remind cathedral..it's a different style..just an opinion! good work!
