Photographer's Note
Taken from the Piazza del Mercato, just below the Palazzo Pubblico, looking south towards Valdimontone and the tower of Santa Maria dei Servi, Siena. I used a polarising filter as the sky was interesting and I wanted to maximise its potential.
I was surprised at how close to Siena's centre was the country, and indeed a large area of allotments, called Orto de 'Pecci may be seen at bottom right, and reach to within a couple of hundred metres of the Campo itself: a magical and almost unvisited area within a stone's throw of the tourist honeypots!

hi will,
lovely black and white presentation.the contrast is excellent. the clouds are very dramatic and give the impression of still moving across the sky.

Ciao dear Will,
sincere congratulations for the quality of this amazing B & W, in which you have demonstrated a perfect knowledge of the management of the light and sharpness. The contrasts of light are incredibly beautiful and evocative, especially those of the sky. Maybe it's a bit pending to the right, but in any case is a great shot. BRAVO!!!
Ciao, have a nice week!
Paolo

Hi Will. A great black and white photo. Fine light and very nice contrast. The nuances between black and white are graded excellent. The photo reminds me of the works of Andreas Bernhard Lyonel Feininger. My compliments for this great photo. Rgds, Wolfgang.

Hi Will
it was really interesting to read your critique you wrote to Silvio.
I share your thoughts 100%.
TE has become more of a Social Website, not so much a photography website. There are pro's and con's to that, I guess its just what you make of it.
As long as critiques that are actual 'critiques' are done with respect, I see nothing wrong with that at all.
As for this photo, the only thing I could nit-pick about is to straighten it a little bit as it seems to be leaning downward to the right.
Its also an interesting choice to present it in monochrome, I commend you for doing that. And those clouds really add visual interest, possible even taking over as the main subject or at least competing for it.
A pleasing combination of architecture, cityscape, and atmosphere.
see you around
