Run Aground, a photo from Louth, North

Photographer's Note

This is the shipwreck found on Baltray Beach, the sky behind wasn't so great but you can see the lights of I think it's either Termonfeckin or Clogherhead in the background and I think the ship is interesting enough on its own. It has a great orange colour and weather worn texture. I used a flash-light to light paint the side of the ship.

I love this theme and I love to paint old boat and ships and more they are damaged more I love them.
Exceptional the contrast between the dark of the evening and the light on the left side of the ship (I think it's not your flash).

Fantastic light control: I'm struggling to decide if the wreck is lit by the remains of a setting sun, or whether you've flashed it with an off-camera gun. Please enlighten! Hang on: I now see a shutter speed of 30 secs, which probably means natural light. Great work.

What a clever idea to paint the ship with a flashlight.
