Photographer’s Note
Another experiment with a couple predator mantids in a cage with double neon lamps. I was waiting for about 4 hours to let them took such pose on a legume pod before shot. After the insect photomodels were "hired" for several hours and fed with smaller insect preys, they were released to original habitat. Later on, the male (smaller one) might be eaten by the female one as sacrifice for their offspring.

Great original picture! Too much light on the [big] head, but that's a minor.

Agree with Marin about light on head. If the camera was turned sideways during the shot, the mantises? Plural? would have been on the diagonal, making it a much stronger impact. Maybe F 22 - F32 would have rendered the tail / abdomen ends more in focus. I know light is a problem at those F-stops.

After, the female will kill the male. Excellent picture, the macrophoto is a difficult art. The direction of lighting was very well used. I do not understand why this photograph passed unperceived from all? I carried out a small work of tiny correction.
That's great !

Bravo. Je l'ajoute à mes favorites.
Very beautiful image. I adore to make macro photograph of insects (but rather in nature). I like praying mantis photograph but unfortunately, there is not near to my home. Well done. I put it in my favorite.
