A condor glides gracefully on the thermals rising from the canyon floor at Desert View on the south rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA.

I would not normally post 2 versions of my photographs, but this image has prompted some worthy criticism, so much so that I felt I should post one of the alternative versions I worked on before posting the original. Thanks everybody for your comments I do appreciate your interest and this is what TE is all about. Brian

A good idea for a picture. Very nice composition. It`s truly an amazing place, but in my opinion it`s too dark. I propose some adjustments in a WS. TFS. Have a nice Sunday:)
Best regards, Erling

this is a magnificant picture that captures the incredible landscape very well. the rich colours add to the overall atmosphere. i wonder does the condor get bored looking at this scene when its sees it every day.

even if the shot is underexposed, i like the colors of the cliffs and also the condor sailing.

A stunning view. Whatever shot this is, Grand canyon never fails to awe me. It's just wonderful and amazing when you're there standing in front of this spectacular. I think the Photo is a bit dark , it prevents the natural vibrant glow of the colors to come out. Maybe a little adjustment on the curves and brightness would do Like what Hansaphotos did. Nonetheless, it is still a good capture.
HAve a great day,

I find the lighting a little on the dark side, but maybe this is the effect you were trying to achieve; it certainly creates a particular mood accentuated by the high flying condor. Despite the subdued lighting the textures in the landscape are very well rendered and the image has superb depth.

This is such a majestic place, such dramatic colours and rock formations. The majestic condor in flights completes this masterpiece perfectly.
Thanks for sharing, enjoy your Sunday

Hello Brian ,
A gorgeous view , a great sky , and the condor as the cherry of the cake . As others said , it seems a little dark for my taste .

Another wonderful composition from Grand Canyon, beautiful atmosphere and cloudy sky, impressive view, the flying eagle a very nice element in the frame, very good clarity, sharpness and contrast, excellent POV.
Have a nice week, Vasilis.

Hello Brian - I have a few moments to look at recent postings and have found the WS and comments on this shot interesting. I do think that your original was a little dark and your Ws has revealed a wonderful vibrancy in the image. You have captured an awe inspiring landscape with excellent clarity and panache. Best regards Rosemary
