Winter in Europe Photo

Photographer’s Note

I will continue my gloomy winter series, and try to show the limits of what the season has to offer. This was taken on the outskirts of Luxembourg City late Sunday afternoon after an entirely foggy and fairly miserable day, where the sun tried to break through about half an hour before it got dark. Frost set in and everything was covered in a fine layer of icicles.

The original was resized, clarified and sharpened before filtering with NeatImage.

Well, at least you have no snow, you can have ours.
This is an interesting composition. It has a painter's quality to it. A moody shot.

Bonsoir Per,
Cette photo est bien représentative de la saison hivernale.
Pas de neige, mais du givre fardant de poudre blanche les branches et les herbes.
J'aime beaucoup l'arrière-plan avec ces maisons qui donnent l'impression de se blottir contre le froid.
Prise de vue intéressante et bien réalisée Per.

A very well done composition in a winter and country very cold scenery for me, not for others that live daiy in this scenery. Others in the world live with hot and hot!. Here you have a nature beauty and the materealization of nature. Is really a great shot and also a great nature emotional and atmospheric shot. Congratulations and my next as soon as possible is also a not so winter street scenery but is a street funny shot in Salzburg, a town that sells christmas lamps all the year!. Thanks for your useful knowledge for us.

Bonjour Per, in flemish Belgium is the winter not present, 10° Celcius on 20 Januari, certain not normal, you picture give very calm and paceful feeling, and the depth is very nice, the colours really, a pity for the old orchard on the foreground.
