What a splendid view over the Grand Canyon enhanced by that dramatic bank of clouds, which makes a wonderful contrast with the rich red tones of the landscape. Wonderful saturated colours and superb depth.

wow, I am really exited to see this place in your gallery. With your great eye this is a place where I expect stunning compositions.
And this is the first one of them.
I see you had a good luck with the clouds which make the view even more interesting.
Great selection of the vertical foreground: very original and effective.
You have also managed to find a POV with a view of the river.
Excellent capture, I look forward to seeing more...

tober (8797) 2011-09-21 5:20
Impressive skyscape above and and amazing landscape below complement eachother very very nicely. It also has a bit of 3D effect due to the well managed depth of field. Congratulations, Tolga

fantastica vista del Grand Canyon con un eccellente taglio verticale e un bellissimo contrasto cromatico tra la roccia e il cielo abbellito dalle nuvole bianche.
Spero hai goduto di una bella vacanza qui in Arizona.
Well done and TFS!

This one's a Stunner!
Although the colours, detail, clarity and lighting of the wonderful rock formations are all superb, these are all nothing compared to that incredibly beautiful sky above.
A stunning photograph, very well and very carefully composed.
faletiz (10377) 2011-09-21 9:54

Hi Brian, I was wondering where you disappeared, and you went to South-west! I can imagine how wonderful photos we will admire. this view of great Canyon is magnificent. Well selected POV, superb sharpness and these wonderful clouds..
Robert1969 (7160) 2011-09-21 22:34
The Grand Canyon is a difficult subject and it's difficult
to make an original picture.
With this beautiful point of view and composition
you make it original.
The forground makes the picture exciting and it
creats a beautiful depth in this picture.
Also wonderful is the light management: you can see
every detail both on the landscape and sky and only
a few people will succeed with this.... Your one of them....My compliments.
ravinmb (1303) 2011-09-22 1:28

Ahh so this is where you've been. Welcome back. What a beautiful place. And this photo is stupendous. The colours, textures and depth of field are magnificent. You really have captured that isolation and vastness of the American desert. The vertical frame suits perfectly and adds to the depth. Just beautiful.
Have a great day
Hellas (6937) 2011-09-22 3:45
Thank you for sharing this wonderful picture!
Stunning scenery and very good exposure too!
Color and detail fascinate the viewer!
mayjayne (5748) 2011-09-22 4:01
Magnificent view. I like the way the richness of the red tones of the rocks at the far right contrast with the rest of the canyon and sky beyong.
Bluejeans (64251) 2011-09-22 5:24

hi brian great subject, great POV, wonderfull colors, nice vertical compositin, good deepth, what else to say..
danos (96059) 2011-09-22 8:46
fascinating the panoramic view of this part of Grand Canyon in Arizona.I like the spectacular colour tints of the rocks, with the threaten clouds above,to make the scene even more effective.
annjackman (21813) 2011-09-24 6:41
This is spectacular. I have found it very hard to photograph this canyon because of haze. You have managed the light wonderfully. The clouds and what looks like a rain shower in the distance really add to the atmosphere. The colours of the rock strata are saturated just right - love it!
romanaa (7984) 2011-09-24 10:50
as I love your country, I mostly tend to react to your British pictures. There have been thousands of Grand Canyons on TE, but this picture is a real stunner. The depth here is incredible giving 3D, leading me to far far away as well as deep in the depth, giving me vertigo feelings.
Just amazing. Bravo
bergese (6699) 2011-09-24 12:09
Great capture with beautiful colors. The pov is wonderful.Splendid.
Best regards Isabelle

Excellent photo composition here, showing us this peace of paradise under excellent photo job. well done.
sevy (58) 2011-09-25 0:43
Great landscape. What else to say?
Full deep of field, cleaness of the air making the landscape well seen very far and the shape of the clouds closing the frame but in the same time increasing the depth feeling.
npecanhuk (74442) 2011-09-25 18:35
This is even better than the one I have just commented about! I love everything here, from sharpness, depth and colors to chosen pov and composition!
TFS - congrats,

Hi Brian, see you have been busy too hiking about in the USA, Super photo of this fantastic scene, love how you have captured the Fg, rock pile then on to the awesome view, and what colours in the layers and the clouds hovering over head,( on my visit list) Well done, Cheers Iain.
mjdundee (4663) 2011-10-05 10:02
This view makes it impossible to write a constructive critique - it is the ultimate CC view - a perfect capture. Full stop. Thanks for sharing.
kiks (11915) 2011-10-12 10:48
wow...i wish i was there. Fantastic the clouds repaiting the shape of the pile at the right of the photo. But only the landschape and mix of colors is already impressive.
adores (44819) 2011-10-15 10:53
One of your photos for sure:)! Great colours, a beautiful blue sky and a good composition. I like the inclusion of these stones in foreground. Must be a great place to visit!
patpatch (1601) 2011-10-18 8:52
A superb view.Really.
I didn't manage to capture any good pictures like this when i was at Grand canyon last june.
The light wan't very good ,a bit sunny but with a grey sky.
Here the light is wonderful and give to the rocks a great richness of colors with a lot of details.
kabel (1926) 2011-10-25 21:53
Hello Brian, everything about this photo is first rate. Spectacular colors, great DOF with your small aperture. Interesting choice to use the rocks as an anchor for the eye to grab ahold of first before gazing out into the expansiveness of the Grand Canyon. The play of light is masterful. The clouds really work their magic here.
You chose a great vantage point to make the image.
It is very inspiring to me to see such a wonderful photo.
thanks for sharing with us here on TE.
ds5icy (255) 2011-12-11 23:57
Wonderful... No word can decribe my feelings to see the spectacle.
Island (614) 2011-12-23 13:35
I'm always happy like a child when I come on your page because I know I'll find some colours and beautiful things...But I have a regret...I don't speak well your language to express all the emotions when I see your pictures. This is an amazing one. The result is very impressive with the contrast of colours, sky, clouds and stones. The light is perfect ... Congratulations!
Thanks for sharing Brian :))
