This image was taken while wandering through the White Mountains National Park in New Hampshire USA. The shaded creek was backed by golden autumn (fall) foliage, creating a golden effect on the water. I metered from the grey mid-tones of the larger rock on the left.

This is a fine contribution with wonderful colors as your title and note suggest. I've only been to the Northeast one time during the fall season and it was definitely spectacular. But mine was a driving trip rather than a walk in the woods. That would be great fun!

I did a workshop with the intention of reducing somewhat the glare that diminishes the richness of the gold. Check it out with the link next to my name and you will see what I did. There is a description as well.

I'd observe that many of us who have been posting for a while at TE have discovered it is easier for viewers if we don't load images at the full 800 pixel height. Very few folks have monitors large enough to display that tall an image, which means one must scroll to take it all in. As I did with my workshop, I keep the maximum height of images to about 650 pixels. If you compare my version to the one you did, you'll get an idea of what I'm talking about.

This is a great place to share images, but more importantly, at least for me, to spend time with many wonderful people from around the world who tell us about their homes and share their skills both behind the camera and at their computers. Mark, I also enjoy the image, simply and beautifull. I agree with Curtis about a glare, I also think that the image is a bit soft(would like to see more detail and texture in the rocks), which could be a result of the scan.

As far as the size of vertical shots is concerned, I have posted 600 pixel high shots in the past, and got complains that it's too small, so there you go, can't make everyone happy, many poeple would prefer too big rather than too small.

Good golden Velvia, sometimes I miss it...
This a very good capture of light, shadows and textures...The composition is also prime rate. Congratulations.

You captured it very well. This light is superb. The composition is also great. The stones and water almost look as if they were all composed of metal. Very nice!

Great shot. I really like it. I think the Autumn is definitly the best period to take nice pictures of that kind.

I had a chance to see autumn in New Hampshire-and i remember that is was very colourfull time. And this photo?You've had an excellent idea.Also this photo is very well composed.
