Montecristo, a photo from Livorno, Tuscany

Photographer's Note

Montecristo is a small Italian islet, approximately 4.3 kilometers (2.3mi) across at its widest point, located about halfway between Corsica and mainland Italy; south of Elba and west of Giglio.

It is part of the Tuscan Archipelago. The islet is the tip of a volcano.

The island is probably best known as a fictional setting in the novel The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, but the actual island does not correspond closely to the description in the novel.

The island is remote and kept by the Italian government as a nature preserve and hunting park, and is not accessible by private yacht and only with a permit to a maximum of 1000 people per year.

It was formerly the site of a prominent monastery, San Mamiliano, whose ruins remain visible.

The image was took from the ferry Piombino-Olbia, going to Sardinia.

I colori saturi, il contesto scenico l'isola di Montecristo.
Una presentazione all'altezza del momento della navigazione del mondo della fotografia e ...vero la Sardegna ..

Hi Paolo, Beautiful composition with nice use of lines from the helipad and first one to see in blue, And nice depth created by the remote hill and white cloud in the background.

lovely composed picture in this blue helipad with nice people activity...like the mountain in BG...lovely DOF with nice blue tone...

good exposure controlled with nice chosen POV...nice color contrast & sharpness also...great low light photography...
