I can imagine how crowded the Mikhaylovska square is today, 24-04-2011, when the Ukrainian Orthodox Churches (there are at least six of them: Autocephalous, Autocephalous Canonical, of the Moscow Patriarchate, of the Kyivan Patriarchate, in Canada, and in the USA) are celebrating one of their main holidays, Easter. But when my grandson and I were there, near the entrance of St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery (Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyivan Patriarchate), the square was rather deserted, maybe because the weather was not very good on that last day of the summer 2010.

Good Morning Sergiy,

Excellent, sharp exposure, has produced pin-sharp, interesting details. Your pov is well judged, giving a nice l/r movement across the frame on a downward diagonal.
With a colour palette, mainly of gold and blue, this is quite sumptuous!

Superb religious architectur, well coloured too with a well balalnced mixt between blue, white and dored color. Excellent POV too with the two parts of the edifice well locatd for give depht to the image.

Very well chosen POV to show us the wonderful complex of the St. Michael Golden-Domed Monastery with the large wall painting near the entrance as a fantastic introduction.
Not so good weather you write. But the sky with its many white clouds fits well with the splendid blue and white facades and the tower of this monastery. The many golden domes and the crosses are a great sight.

I notice the painting on the wall, showing how the congregation is lining up for the Easter service!
Must be a religious people in Kyiv, two churches within 50 m.....

nice the coexist of the St.Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery with the bell tower on the foreground to be balanced perfect the image.I like the whole presentation with the only disadvantage of the shot to be the harsh falling light from the right.

marvelous church, surprising to see the curious tower with a gate with the church and its golden domes ahead. very nice small details like these paintings we can see here too.
last sunday I got a photo of a ukrainian brazilian family and their traditional clothes, I hope you have seen the ukrainian churches I posted here some months ago too.
