One of the oldest sights in Hanoi is the Temple of Literature, called Van Mieu in Vietnamese. The "temple" was founded in 1070 by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong, and is dedicated to the Chinese philosopher Confucius. Six years later, Vietnam's first university was founded here to teach the children of royalty and aristocracy.
The long narrow temple complex consists of a sequence of five courtyards divided by walls.

Une photo très intéressante, très bien composée et surtout remarquablement maitrisée au niveau de l'exposition (avec, certainement, un très bon travail de PP). De très jolies couleurs également.

A moody shot in the available light
I like the red walls, the cap, the electric fan, his posture (he looks like he's almost asleep!) and the low light
Have a nice sunday
Best to you

Apart from the lovely glowing red background, I like how the bars at the window seem to be echoed in the lamp. A bit of a sneaky "shot in the back", but as long as the results are as good as this one here, I don't mind all that much. A good slice of life picture, from one of my favourite countries.

Very nice and strong mood on this photo. It looks like to be out from a movie. I think it is mainly coming from the soft lightning with good balance between light and shadow.
It makes me think about the books of Qiu Xiaolong, especially 'Death of a red heroine'.

this could well be a scene from a movie. The light you've captured gives out a particular atmosphere that I like a lot. Cool shot!

Hello miss van den Hogen,
I really like the three props that are framing your subject in a triangular configuration; very clever composition.
I also have to mentioned that these three objects are very attractive and captivating, each of them in their own characteristic way; the lamp that brings all the ambiance to the scene, the cap facing the guardian and bouncing the light in an esthetic manner, and finally, the bold and graphic fan, that inform about the heat condition. I think that it's these three elements that make people seeing a parallel with a movie scene.
The rest of the photo is completely red, full of Asian details and motifs, which is very seductive and exotic. A creative and out-of-the-box shot.
