Photographer's Note

Papal Banquet Hall

" The dimensions of the Papal Banquet Hall are quite impressive (48 m. long, 10,25 m. wide). In the 14th century, the wooden ceiling was covered with blue fabric studded with stars.

During the election of a Pope, the arched walls to the south and the west were taken down, and the Grand Tinel Hall opened onto the Robing Room and the Guests' Quarters. The Cardinals remained here until the election of the new Pope."
