A symbolic part of the RENAISSANCE WING of the CHÂTEAU DE BLOIS, is its monumental staircase of the 16th century, embeded in the façade.

Built between 1515 and 1519, according to a polygonal plan, this spiral staircase, is massive and light at once.
Its heavy and robust nervures and foothills let open on the yard of wide bays which transform this element of communication between floors, in an element of communication of king and queen with the characters of the kingdom and the royal court.
Its masonry is abundantly decorated, and in particular with of SALAMANDERS which is François Ier's royal emblem, and initials "F" and "C" in honour to the royal couple François Ier and Claude of France.

_ The RENAISSANCE WING in the courtyard of the château de Blois, built from 1515 to 1519 according to the will of King François Ier, between the CLASSIC WING of the 17th century and the MEDIEVAL GREAT HALL of the 13th century.

The château de Blois was for over a century the favorite residence of the kings of France. It brings together architecture, the Middle Ages to the 17th century: medieval architecture of the great hall of the palace the 13th century of COUNTS OF BLOIS, flamboyant Gothic architecture of the wing builded from 1498 to 1503 by LOUIS XII, 1462-1515, Renaissance architecture wing built from 1515 to 1519 by FRANÇOIS Ier, 1494-1547, classical architecture wing built from 1635 to 1638 for the Duke GASTON D'ORLÉANS, 1608-1660, by architect François Mansart, 1598-1666.

Located on the banks of the Loire river, the château de Blois, 10th 15th 16th 17th siècles, is one of the Chateaux of the Loire . It is classified as historical monument.
The chateau of Blois was for over a century the favorite residence of the kings of France, home for 7 kings and 10 queens of France.

Blois is a French commune, located in the departement of Loir-et-Cher in the Centre region, populated by 50 704 Blois in 2007, spread across 37.5 km², or 1353.6 inhabitants per km².

Blois appears for the first time in 410.
Blois is a town classified Ville d'Art et d'histoire.

Bonjour Joël,

Impressionnant quand on compare la hauteur de cet escalier avec la taille des deux personnes sur la droite de l'iamge. la qualitié sans faille habituelle avec les détails très bien captés et un beau contraste entre l'édifice et le bleu du ciel.

The detail to be observed in the architecture is magnificent. The couple walking towards the camera give us an idea of the scale of the building and that wonderful staircase. Presentation is first class. Bravo!

Impeccable cet escalier. Les artisans francais ont fait des merveilles d'ingénierie pour l'époque. Le point de vue est très beau et la lumière bien gérée.

Hello Joel,

Voilà le bon angle de prise pour cet escalier monumental. Lors de mon passage à Blois et ma visite de ce somptueux château je n'avais pu l'exploiter pour un question de lumière.
Bravo pour cette présentation claire, nette et détaillée de l'aile Renaissance avec en plus deux guss pour l'échelle! Beau jeux d'ombres et lumière pour une bonne lecture des détails de l'architecture.

Belle idée le cadrage plus serré, on apprécie d'autant plus ce merveilleux escaliers extérieur, superbe lumière avec un joli contraste avec le bleu du ciel, belle évaluation du bâtiments donner par les deux personnes,

C'est une façade merveilleuse!
C'est une photo excellente!
La netteté, la gestion de la lumière, les couleurs obtenues, le format vertical grand, l'encadrement gris & blanc, les contrastes, la compo serrée avec la présence de ce couple-là (qui nous donne une idée très bonne du taille de ce bâtiment), le pp et la compo sont superbes!

Les trois points de vue de ce bâtiment est magnifique, prises sous trois angles différents.
Très belle architecture de ce château, en particulier la circulation, les escaliers apparaissent.

Une photo classique d'un des symboles de Blois! Malgré cela, je note sa réalisation soignée. L'escalier bien placé dans l'espace, la lumière bien calibrée. Et ce couple qui permet de comprendre les proportions!

cet escalier porte bien son nom: "monumental". Les ascenseurs extérieurs ne sont pas des idées nouvelles!
La netteté de ta photo nous permet d'admirer les sculptures et offre beaucoup de détails. Une belle lumière et un magnifique contraste entre les pierres et le ciel bleu. Bravo.

foto come questa, e le due del WS, possono essere pienamente apprezzate solamente se catturate con questa perfezione e questa luce. E' stato un vero piacere poter apprezzare ogni dettaglio della facciata di questo prezioso castello. Molto importante la presenza delle due persone, che danno vita alla scena e ci danno le reali dimensioni del castello. Bravissimo, come sempre!
