Photographer’s Note
Always to Sintra, the Castelo dso Mouros (the castle of the Moors), fortress of the VIIIth century, set up by the Moors, when they occupied Portugal.
Today it is very well maintained ruins, and are the place of very pleasant visit that contrasts with the magnificent gardens and kitsch of the Palacio da Pena.
Down from ramparts, we have a magnificent sight on Sintra and on Lisbon but this morning there there was a thick fog, but which gave a mystic charm to these ruins...
Photo originally argentique , pulled by the CD of the laboratory photo, what explains the noise.
I removed the color to give it a more mysterious aspect.
In french, moorish (maure) sounds like dead (mort). So this tree is a dead moorish tree !

Ah oui, quelle ambiance !

Great atmosphere, great composition! A castle, a naked tree and fog? It couldn't be any better! B/W was a good choice to emphasize the spooky and mysterious feeling! Very nice!

Hi Hugues, I think this is a painting with pencil, the B/W contrasten are formidable lovely. The composition is very original and beautiful, with the tree in perspective and the castle tower in the background.
My compliments for these.
Greetings John.

Bravo

Absolutuely wonderful!
This is one of the best pieces that I've seen recently - I think it is fantastic. The detail on the tree, the brickwork, all contrasted by the mist trying hard to wash out the picture. Great contrast, and a wonderfully dramatic composition!
Wow.

I've been here recently and took many photos! This was one of the points I found very interesting but didn't have this great mist.
Good view on this tower, and I lve the dead tree. I also like the mist which creates the illusion of distance in such near objects. Good choice for BW.
I think i would crop almost half of the space between the left border and the trunk to uncenter the tree a bit more.

Bonjour Hugues,
Tres tres belle photo

Bonsoir Hugues,
