Two castles, Curemonte

In the village of Curemonte, in a fortified surrounding wall, the castle of Saint-Hilaire with square towers, the 14th century, the castle of Plas with round towers, the 16h century.

CUREMONTE is a french commune, located in the departement of Corrèze of the Limousin area, populated of 219 Curemontois in 2007, distributed out of 8.8 km², that is to say 24.8 hab/km².

The village of Curemonte quoted in 860, medieval city stretched on a rock headland, sheltered successively the Gallo-Romans, the Merovingian ones, before depending on the Viscounts of Turenne at the 11th century.
Curemonte is one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France, one of the most beautiful french villages, in which one discovers three castles, three churches, and remarkable old houses.

Bonjour Joël,

Très curieux cette localisation rapprochée de ces deux châteaux à l'architecture à la fois proche et différente. Très belle présentation qui les entoure de verdure et fait resortir les contrastes sous ce ciel nuageux.

Joel,
This is a fine shot of this great castle. The line of thees in the foreground create a nice border for the shot while the overhanging limb frames and creates depth. The angle of the shot is great allowing us to see the different facades of the towers. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has excellent sharpness.

A very nice location
The picture is beautiful, the framework also features architectural elements!of two castles ! but the trees alive with colors and composition as impressive and adds to the total work.Regards

Lovely summer picture during the winter period.
This green of the trees in foreground fiel very pleasant when here rain in Belgium.
Sharpness and clarity give a nice image.
Nice contrasted colors.
Excellent composition, good presentation too.

Bonjour Joel,

Trois églises et deux châteaux dans le village, on voit ou se situaient les priorités à l'époque. Il y a des tous rondes et des tours carrées sur la même construction, on croirait un hybride.

Les arbres cadrent bien les châteaux. La prise de vue permet de distinguer les détails et les couleurs de l'architecture des châteaux Saint-Hilaire et de Plas. La qualité de la lumière rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Bonsoir Joël,

Voilà un bel assemblage architectural qui émerge littéralement de la verdure, induisant une sorte d'inaccessibilité des lieux. Je n'aurais d'ailleurs pas fait de distinction entre les deux constructions sans ta note, joliment illustrée par les autres points de vue de ces châteaux. De la belle ouvrage, très didactique. Bravo.

An unusual photo Joel with chateaus so close together - I hope the owners were on good terms!
Well taken with the chateaus sticking up out of vegetation. Good colours under a miserable sky.

Il est intéressant de voir deux châteaux voisins dans le même village. Vos points de vue sont magnifiques, et nous pouvons admirer deux architectures très différentes.
D'accompagnement des arbres fourni un bon cadre ajoute à la composition.

è incredibile la costruzione così vicina di questi due castelli. la forma differente delle torri aiuta la mente a separarli, ma da questo punto e ad un primo sguardo la costruzione sembra unica e particolare, come se degli elementi fossero stati aggiunti in tempi diversi. la scarsità del numero delle finestre e la loro altezza non lascia dubbi sugli scopi di questo colosso di pietra. grazie per questa bellezza storica.

Hi Joel,
I like your presentation with the castle raising above the trees. The trees and a branch in the left upper corner make natural frame. Great colors, light, pov and sharpness.
The castle remind me to the castles of the Teutonic Order in north part of Poland.
